Mythos has delicious cuisine whether you love meat, vegetables, or seafood! It is seldom that a restaurant ticks all the foodie boxes, and to top it off, we have incredible specials available like our Meze Monday (half price platters), Trio Tuesday (any 3 meze for R149), and Prawn Mania (12 medium prawns and a side of your choice for R175).

If you haven’t had the privilege of travelling to Greece yet, walking into a Mythos restaurant is like stepping into a Mediterranean village, featuring some of the best of Greek architecture and décor and, of course, some cultural trinkets like the ‘mati’ or evil eye, believed to bring you good luck and protect you from ill intentions.

Each restaurant has been decorated with beautiful souvenirs from the iconic Greek mainland. As a tasteful tribute to Greece, they encapsulate the essence and warmth of the isles.

A gorgeous aesthetic greets you, featuring striking murals of Greek mythology, marble floors, naturally bleached wood (as if salt-washed from the sea), olive trees, and beautiful wall murals (depicting ancient Grecian scenes in swirls of blue, as well as Gods and Goddesses, such as Poseidon and Hebe). Glittering accents of copper and gold are dispersed throughout the rooms.

A striking focal point, found in every Mythos restaurant, is the line of blue and white hand-crocheted chandelier covers, representing those you find on the streets of Greece, made by local artists.

Each restaurant reflects Greece in its own way, but at the heart of it all lies the quintessential character of the Greek islands of Crete, Mykonos, and Santorini, where you can bask under blue skies and protection from evil eyes.

Sharing food is an integral part the Greek experience. In a typical Greek-style family gathering, there is lots of passing of plates around the table to try a little bit of everything, glasses clinking, laughter, and loud chatter across long banquet tables. This is the Greek way!

Our meze platters, made for sharing, give you a great introduction to the flavours of Greece. So, take a taste tour by ordering off the meze menu at Mythos.

Or order some of our heartier, traditional dishes such as Moussaka (a kind of lasagna, with potatoes, brinjal, mince & bechamel sauce), Kleftiko (slow-roasted lamb shank on the bone), or Pastitsio (a beefy and cheesy macaroni with bechamel sauce). Make sure you leave room for the Baklava Cheesecake, washed down with a strong Greek coffee or fine wine (handpicked from the Western Cape winelands to complement the Mediterranean flavours of our dishes).

Home-style comfort food doesn’t get any better than this!
